πŸ“½ Film Binge!!! 🍿 Ribfest πŸ–, Comedy 🀣 and where to celebrate Canada Day πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Published almost 2 years agoΒ β€’Β 4 min read

Wow What a Weekend!

Ok, that was a jam packed weekend. Between the Sound of Music festival, the Lobsterfest and for the Love of Father's Food Truck Festival, and not to mention all the sports teams playing out there, things were hopping!

My family took advantage of the Burlington Rotary's Ribfest and we each got one Lobster, plenty of Coleslaw, and a container each of Macaroni and Cheese. Hilariously, my daughter, who is not used to breaking open a lobster, was the most vocal in her epic struggles. She later called it a fun bonding experience (with the family, not the lobster lol).

So it's officially summer now. And the weather is good. Here's what you have in your local area:

πŸ¦€ Coming This Week 🍿

  1. Seafood Cookout
  2. OFFA - Oakville Festivals of Film and Art
  3. Ribfest Oakville
  4. Comedian Steve Patterson

Not sure where to go for Canada Day πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦? Check out the info below to see what's going on!

Just noticed that Oakville's Ribfest is now Drive Thru! So sad to see that. Definitely can't wait till we get all of our events back to In-Person.

Anyway, thanks to Rotary OakvilleTrafalgar, we don't have to cook this weekend. So, check out the pictures below for the food vendors and head on down to Sheridan College this Friday - Sunday to Order your Barbeque Ribs!

🀣🀣🀣 Comedian Steve Patterson is coming next Thursday

Steve Patterson at Oakville Centre for Performing Arts 30 June

I am a big fan of CBC's Debaters! This hilarious face-off between two comedians debates topics such as; The V-neck or the Turtleneck, which is more superior? And Should Adults Skateboard? Steve Patterson is the host and always adds his own puns to the intro and throughout the hilarious debate.

Next Thursday, Steve will be at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts at 8pm. I've already got my tickets! If you'd like tickets as well, click HERE.

πŸ¦žπŸ¦€ AHOY MATES! 🎣

Need a Getaway?

The sun is shining and all I'm thinking is "It's a beach day!"

So here's one for you:

β›± Jack Darling Memorial Park in Mississauga! πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Jack Darling Memorial Park beach, Mississauga ON

This one is 22 acres and is rated the most popular in Mississauga. My family went there with a professional photographer to get family photos and they turned out really well.

I love this vivid description of Jack Darling I found on Planetware :

Boasting one of the best beaches in Mississauga, the golden sands beckon city residents when the sun shines and the temperature climbs. The cold, clear waters of Lake Ontario are exceedingly refreshing, and the soft sands are ideal for lying out on or building your best sand castle creation.

The article goes on to discuss picnic areas and a dog park. Check out planetware: "11 Best Parks in Mississauga" to read more. Better yet, head on down there yourself!

It's a Great Day for Hiking

Issue #88 Good Evening And what can I tell you? Thanksgiving is coming up and you can tell by all the turkeys at the grocery stores. By that I'm referring to us folks gliding through the isles with a full cart of food that's going to cost a fortune! But while we are talking turkey, check out this song from Adam Sandler. "I love Turkey". Are you old enough to remember this when it aired? 🀣🀣🀣 πŸ—ž What's Good (and Coincidentally In This Newsletter) 🍁 All You Need For Fall πŸšΆβ™€οΈ Joahua's Creek Trail...
